Production Process: The process of making ghee involves:
Melting butter over low heat.
Simmering it for an extended period, allowing the water to evaporate and the milk solids to separate and settle at the bottom of the pan.
Removing the milk solids by straining the remaining liquid, which is the pure butterfat or ghee.
Flavor and Aroma: Ghee has a rich, nutty, and slightly sweet flavor with a distinctive aroma. The flavor can vary depending on the quality of the butter used and the length of the simmering process.
High Smoke Point: Ghee has a higher smoke point (around 482°F or 250°C) than regular butter, making it suitable for high-heat cooking methods like frying and sautéing. It's less likely to burn or produce harmful compounds at high temperatures.
